Womenlines takes pleasure to welcome Sakhee Dheer as a guest contributor at Womenlines. Sakhee leads Digital Marketing for APAC Global Business Marketing at Facebook Singapore, currently. In this article, Sakhee is sharing her understanding of Hinduism-

In today’s world where cultures across the world are battling biases, discrimination, hate speech and other anti-human behaviour, it is important to re-read some of the foundational texts and scriptures of our humanity and re-learn human fundamentals without the ones contaminated by centuries of greed, division and exploitation. In my quest to understand more and be more mindful of our existence, I have embarked to learn more about Hinduism and try to be more conscious of our history, bias and also goodness!

I recently wrote about how the last few months have forced each one of us to take a hard look at our how we lead our lives, what is important, what needs to be nurtured and what needs to be let go. In my quest to learn more about myself, our surroundings and cultural influences, I embarked on reading more and doing more. One question that has been with me all my adult life till now has been about who we are, what is our purpose in life and are we supposed to find our higher purpose? These questions keep me curious, ensure I am authentic at home and work, show care and try to genuinely listen and be empathetic.

Interestingly, I recently stumbled on a course by Harvard on Hinduism and in my quest to learn more about myself, go within, and possibly answer some existential questions!!!, I decided to give it a try. And what started as a simple desire to be equipped to have more meaningful conversations on my religion has ended with an explosive curiosity to know more. For those interested, here is the link to the course that I recommend to kick start your journey. Hinduism is known to be the oldest religion. It is called the Santana dharma or the eternal religion and no matter how deep I went into the course or my research alongside, I feel I haven’t even scratched the surface.

My readings have helped me understand how Hinduism has evolved over centuries, given the background to the religious practices and in many cases just some validation to things my elders have shared anecdotally. It has also helped me see some of the evils of Hinduism and allowed me to begin to build an objective view of how it has evolved over centuries. I also believe some of my findings have helped pick up deeper lessons on leadership, decision making, strategic action and mental steadfastness. After having begun my journey down this path, I strongly feel that many of us do not understand the essence of Hinduism, the goodness it has to offer and is stuck in the dogma that political leaders have created for their gains. Especially in today’s world where cultures across the world are battling biases, discrimination, hate speech and other anti-human behaviour, it is important to re-read some of the foundational texts and scriptures of our humanity and re-learn human fundamentals without the ones contaminated by centuries of greed, division and exploitation.

As I have made myself aware of the historical context of Hinduism, the revered scriptures of Vedas, Upanishads, Shrutis and Puranas, I feel strongly for what it has to offer. For me, Hinduism is a “way of life”. It is diverse and has something for everyone. In today’s times, the widespread popularity of yoga and meditation practices connected to fundamental Hindu practices are a case in point of the universality of the knowledge. The oldest scriptures Vedas and Upanishads talk about the connection with the environment and the existence of the Supreme Self. Both concepts are extremely important in today’s context. The Vedas and Upanishads are written in the form of hymns and philosophical discourse that point to real experiences sages then had, and explain the stages of attaining the realisation of consciousness. A concept I am blown over by. I am trying to internalise some of the teachings on the power of our mind, intellect and consciousness. I wish there was an easy way to experience this!

The power of Hinduism and the reason I believe it has survived all these years is the flexibility it has provided. In chronological order starting close to 15BCE, we have had multiple Hindu texts: Vedas->Upanishads->Smritis (Manusmriti)-> Ramayana->Mahabharat->Bhagavad Gita->Puranas->Bhakti texts -> Vernaculars. Each of the texts has evolved from the previous texts and they still carry the essence of Vedas and Upanishads. I have come to believe that at different junctures of human history, our ancestors added layers to the texts to match their context, whether it be to manage kingdoms or to govern during the colonial era. Some of the negative practices of caste and gender discrimination come from different eras but when we go back to the essence of Vedas of one Supreme Self and the connected Brahman (Universe) and Atman(Soul) all else seem just man-made alterations to very evolved scriptures of our ancient ancestors.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the time I have spent to learn more. For me, the saying from Bhagavad Gita, To be in the present moment and do all our actions without any expectation of result and attachment’ stands out. I find this such a powerful mantra for our present-day lives as well, where much of the outcomes of anything we do are dependent on so many different parameters than just our efforts. By being in the present, giving our best and not getting demotivated / arrogant by the outcomes will help us to continue to push, learn, grow, innovate, do good and help others irrespective of outcomes. Hinduism has such vast history over more than 3 Millenia, multiple powerful scriptures, timeless knowledge on ‘ways of life’, alignment with nature and overall wellbeing. Wish I could agree with it being just a religion, I think it is much more.

Womenlines takes pleasure to welcome Andrea Zsapka in ‘Entrepreneur of the Month’ show. Andrea Zsapka is a certified coach and personal branding expert. Born in Hungary, she made the decision to move to Malaysia and has been living in Kuala Lumpur for the past 4 years, teaching individuals how to make changes in their lives to follow their passions. She is also a bonafide dance instructor and may force you to do the tango if you pronounce ‘Zsapka’ wrongly.Read Andrea’s story in her own words and listen to her interesting entrepreneurial journey in the interview above-

I grew up in a loving family in a small town in Hungary. During my childhood days, my parents gave me wonderful opportunity to try my hand in all sorts of activities, from painting, taekwondo, debating, arts and craft, singing, dancing and playing the piano. I was very thankful for my parents for letting me find my passion. Letting me learn dancing was the biggest gift they could ever give me. Dancing taught me a lot about myself, life, people, connections, collaboration, respect. My family knows that it was not an easy ride for me. I would rather say it has been an emotional roller coaster. I have been dancing since I was six. My stubbornness and willpower brought me pretty good results. I won many competitions, I became a dance instructor, the leader of a dance association and I also started a dance school in Budapest.

Why this story is so special? Because while all this was happening I was having another life parallel to my dancer one. I went to a business school and got a diploma as Economist on Bank management and Stock Exchange faculty, (Yes, it is true) For more than 10 years I was working for big companies (8 am-6 pm) Right after work I was running to my dance classes, lessons, rehearsals. I was having my competitions on the weekends. I was doing OK in both fields, maintaining a life that was pleasing others around me, without analysing what is happening to me, with me. I was sleepwalking and rushing, no one knows where.

I got so far, that at one point I got married only because I wanted to please my family. Then it hit me, I woke up the next day, right after my special, beautiful day, and I knew this is not my choreography. I haven’t been living my life at all; I have been dancing a fake dance, without realizing what’s going on. I have to tell you this is not a good feeling, it is not liberating at all. It has the heavyweight of responsibility, guilt, regret, pain, depression. When something like this is happening, you feel lost. It is like you lived underwater for 30 years. You start to question your whole life; you start to think: it is because of the people around you, it is because of their evil plan to control you, and then you blame yourself for everything.

I wanted a fresh start. I got divorced and I started my life again searching for answers. The only thing I knew was that I love dancing, when I am on the dance floor I am not lying to myself, I am ME. I am deeply grateful and happy to have supporting friends and family who were there for me during this harsh period. I started to dance and learn the Argentine tango and other social dances as a follower you have to read the intentions of your dancing partner and follow all the moves that he is initiating. The moment of real connection makes you feel like you are part of something bigger. I have studied all aspects of dancing and its effect on people, starting with myself. As a result, I felt better and better. It took me around 4 years to get out of this negative valley, to get back to myself, to my shape, to my soul and to realize that everything is connected and all that has happened to me was part of a bigger plan.

Life made me: listen, sit down and create something unique, emerging from the bottom of my heart, awaken by the turn that my life took. All that I had to do was to concentrate on the one thing that I do best: make people feel better about themselves and their life choices. Help them get to know themselves better through dancing and just follow my instinct and my freshly found path. And just when I started to feel better, it happened again, for personal reasons, I had to move, the first time in my life I had to go to the other corner of the world. I had to leave everything and everyone behind: my family, my friends, my little dog, my dance school, my trainer job, my colleagues, my independence, and start again, third time at a different environment: in South, East Asia-Malaysia.

To see the end of the story just turn the page and the story continues: What happened after I moved to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia? This time there was a difference, I knew what to do, I knew my purpose. It took me a year to settle, got connected with the place and got over the cultural shock, the homesickness and all those things that all ex-pats are going through when they are starting over. It was hard but as I knew where I am heading the whole thing became part of the process. I accepted the fact that it takes time and commitment to start what I would like to do.

This time I was dancing my choreography I felt safe and aligned. And here we are in 2019, Within the last 3 years, I have created a new dance community. I am doing what I love. I became a Transformation coach, Art Therapist Life coach, Master Life Coach. I am conducting my dance classes and I started my dance therapy sessions. I participated at the MIG Mrs International Global Beauty contest in Malacca, as Mrs Hungary International Global, I organized a Salsa flash mob at the Connection Pavilion, I have my own company here in Malaysia, I have been the host in two short tourist movies to promote Malaysia for Hungarians, which has been aired in the Hungarian national TV. I visited 10 South East Asian country. I made many friends in my new home Malaysia from many different cultures, I had my very first press conference. I coached incredible ladies who helped me to get cultural insights to perfect my coaching methodology.

I am helping individuals to be their best selves and to realign their lives. From the bottom of my heart, I wish you all the power to make the decision I made: Change if you feel you are not at the right place and dare to ask for help from people who have already been there. As we say life is short, why not make the best of it, and don’t forget: together we are better, together we can accomplish more, together we can help more people. Womenlines takes pleasure to welcome Leadership Coach Sally Anderson from New Zealand as a guest influencer for Leadership at Womenlines panel. Sally has privately coached key influencers internationally: CEO’s/executive teams/C-Suite forums/entrepreneurs/celebrities/politicians/millionaires/billionaires over 20 years. This week Sally is sharing incredible tips to boost sales process-

Critical elements that should be mandatory with CLOSING specifically are:-

  1. EMOTIONAL CONNECTION is everything – Every sales exchange is a human to human interaction – SO to become masterful in closing EMOTIONAL CONNECTION is mission-critical
  2. STORYTELLING is crucial and needs to be a part of your sales exchange without fail
  3. OWN your space, respect who you are, have them come up to your level, never go down to their level
  4. NEVER get onto their court, get them onto your court or you will not win the game
  5. You are there to interview them NOT them interviewing you
  6. CLOSING has to do with your relationship with MONEY, so do the work to sort out your beliefs around MONEY! If you have an issue with money on ANY level, SORT IT OUT!
  7. Beliefs run EVERYTHING, what you attract is directly proportional to your beliefs – if you wish to shift what you are attracting SHIFT YOUR BELIEFS
  8. PRESS the bruise, get them present to the costs, you MUST understand their pain points/challenges and elicit these well before the close
  9. Fall in love with OBJECTIONS, always call it BEFORE they do – elevate the conversation otherwise, you are playing on their court – go looking for them
  10. OWN who you are, you have earnt the right to be a TELLER, sometimes when you own it you do not have to enrol you just tell them to SIGN
  11. STOP tolerating saying ‘I am not good at closing’, get the support ASAP the costs of not being too great
  12. Commitment = Results – where ever the results are being produced is a function of your current commitment…so folks if the results are not being produced in the area you say you are committed, I am here to tell you, you are NOT committed
  13. Your energy has to be as impactful in the close as it is in the enrolment phase if not more
  14. When you want to back out – GO IN, the gold lies in GOING IN – ALWAYS
  15. Be inappropriate, if you own it you will have the prospect have a breakthrough with the bullshit they are running – being inappropriate does not mean being rude, it means you are standing for a possibility beyond their default identity as they know it
  16. Stay the distance – do not sell out – park all future meaning-based projections on why someone has not come back to you – 9 times out of 10, if you are clean in your intent then its worth investing the time to stand for them coming back to you
  17. Do not waste time with people who have their radios off. Spend MORE time with those that have their radios on
  18. Self-deprecation works, framing upfront, use that which you operate over the top of as your trump card, LEAD WITH THIS!
  19. Match what they share with what you share so that the prospect feels like you understand their world – listen to their language, the language will ALWAYS tell you where you need to go in the conversation
  20. We all have unique fingerprints, we are all unique with different lessons to learn, one process does NOT apply to all – so in your journey to master closing get the right support unique to you to shift your own dynamic/s
  21. As human beings we all have a default disempowered identity, to understand your own and how it works is critical – this mechanism hinders you from achieving your potential – take time to understand this aspect of your identity
  22. Do not be STUCK with stayed linear hard skill sales structures, it’s a dance, read the intuitive signs, trust these signs and be lead by your powerful intuitive ability – the more you trust it the more you will receive through the power of intuition
  23. STOP SSD, being serious, significant and dramatic, (a function of this disempowered default identity I speak about) – make closing FUN, if you are not having fun in the sales exchange believe you me the prospect will not be having fun so LIGHTEN UP THE ENERGY, ‘sales is just a conversation’, nothing more nothing less – so dance

Womenlines takes pleasure to share about a very interesting organisation ALLATRA International Public Movement founded in 2011 on the basis of Lagoda International Public Organization. Today, participants of the movement are implementing a vast number of large-scale projects in different areas. The projects are being accomplished by the world’s best volunteer experts from various walks of life who are not indifferent to the future of our civilization. AllatRa International is an association of active, honest and friendly people who aspire to use their best qualities for the benefit of society. It is a new format of relations regardless of nationalities, professions, social status, religious and political views-

Today, we see that more and more people have forgotten the meaning of happiness. Society demands have become harsher and almost impossible to follow. Our civilization has reached a dead-end in the consumer format of living.

To discuss the problems and solutions of today’s reality, a global conference “Society. The Last Chance” was held on May 11th, 2019. Thousands of people present from all over the world agreed that our civilization is heading towards self-destruction and the only way out is to change the vector towards building the Creative Society.

Thanks to those realizations, people from all over the world are already uniting on the platform of ALLATRA International Public Movement. ALLATRA IPM volunteers are implementing the project Creative Society and informing all people in the world that we can live in a better, happier, and safe society. We, the people, can build a world in which every single person is comfortable in all spheres of life and where the highest value is Human Life. The 8 Foundations of building the Creative society are the key to unification and success for changing the vector of development to a peaceful and happy world.

“..all eight principles and once it established and whole world connects based on these principles, I’m sure it will be such a beautiful word. Once you imagine how people are supporting each other and evolving each other and helping each other to be a better version of themselves. I’m sure there was no time for anybody to think about violence and think about other negativities. The mission will be only to improve oneself and make this world a better place” Charu Mehrotra from the conference “Creative Society- A World Without Violence”

Participants of ALLATRA IPM are asking people all over the world how does each person, as a representative of Humanity, envision a Creative Society? How can we unite for this goal and build a future together? To aid in the process of informing people globally, participants are using the Rule of Six Handshakes and are hosting various live broadcasts, conferences, and webinars. The resonance from people all over the world is increasing daily, more and more people are already taking action and uniting based on moral and spiritual values. After all, we are all one big family!

The live broadcasts that are opening up global communication are “Six Degrees of Connection” and “Live Conversation” daily programs, where people from different countries of the world share their culture and traditions, where community leaders, scientist, diplomats, and socially active people share practical examples of how to build a world we can be proud of. People of action also join together at global conferences “Creative Society – A World Without Violence” during which guest speakers share practical examples of how to overcome violence locally and globally.

United by a single goal of building the Creative Society, we can build the world we can only dream of today. Share your vision of the Creative Society by visiting allatraunites.com and clicking the “Join Us” button. The future depends on each of us, let’s share this message around the globe by using #creativesociety #allatraunites. Together we can do a lot!

Womenlines takes pleasure to share about Style Coach Influencer at Womenlines panel, Stephanie Michelle. Stephanie Michelle, Coach of Style is a Personal Stylist and Visual Presence Coach.  She helps women transform and enhance their visual presence so that they love who they are and show up as the best version of themselves. Ultimately saving them time, money, and effort giving them the Power of Style. This month Stephanie Michelle is sharing tips on how to boost your style-

Do you ever think about giving your style a boost?

You have worn your favourite attire in the same way for too long. Are you tired of wearing that skirt with the same top? Has your work attire seen better days?  There is no need to keep up with your perceived notion that you have to keep things the same way all the time. Many women worldwide fall into the style comfort zone. It keeps you from maximizing your Power of Style

In the long run, you can read books, take courses, and seek the services of consultants or stylists. These are great ideas, but you need some simple tips you can try at home right now. Try these 4 quick tips to give your style a boost.

Assess- Know Your Likes

The best thing to do is to start by assessing what you like. What is your personal style or what style would you like to explore? What items in your closet do you enjoy wearing the most? Once you are able to narrow down what you like, it will be easier to focus on key elements of appeal. Don’t worry if you have a long list of likes, it just means you will have access to more creative options.

Accessories- Mix It Up

Let the fun begin with accessories. You will have scores of options to choose from, including belts, bracelets, watches (I know I am not the only one that wears a watch as an accessory and not a timepiece) earrings, necklaces, scarfs, pins, rings, and so many other options. Think about your personality and where you are wearing these items. Add a piece of jewellery or two to one of your favourite outfits. Mix pieces together for some variety and flair. INSERT PICTURE #1

Color-Make It Pop

To continue giving your style a boost, add a pop of colour. Adding colour is a process for some, but never fear, it’s easy to start small. Switch out your white top for a bold coloured top. Try coloured slacks or a skirt with a muted tone top.  Wearing colour can be a sensitive topic because people are afraid of making too much of a statement in their colourful attire. The key is to try. Start off small or light.

If you are ready to take a big leap, try a bold coloured dress with your work jacket/blazer/sweater. How about a great pair of shoes saturated with colour? The next time you get dressed try these steps and see how creative you can be.

Secret Weapon

The secret weapon is where it all comes to life. You started with figuring out what you like, then you rummaged through all your accessory possibilities and came up with your awesome personalized collection. You moved to enhance your look with pops of colour. Now it is time for the secret weapon.  What is the secret weapon?  YOU, displaying your personalized Power Of Style.

It is time for a much needed boost. Apply these tips and see how much you can boost your style.

Womenlines takes pleasure to share the first episode of the talk show ‘Master your emotions with Dr Ruby and Charu’ presented by RAY Academy Swiss – Re-Invent the Awesome You and Womenlines!

As we all know, it’s not the smartest people who are the most successful in life.
