Great moment of celebration for womenfolk!
History was created in Saudi Arabia when an expert on girl’s education became first woman minister as a part of a reshuffle.Nora bint Abdullah al-Fayez, a US-educated former teacher, was made deputy education minister in charge of a new department for female students.
Its a feat on the part of the Saudi Arab government as the country is known for its ultra-conservative nature. Things are changing, though slowly, around the world. This step will certainly bring a ray of hope for those females in Saudi Arabia who want to do something in life.
The second achievement for the womenfolk happened for an Indian woman.Suman Sharma, daughter of a retired Indian naval officer and an army colonel’s sister, became the world’s first woman to fly the mighty Russian MiG-35 fighter jet at the Aero India international air show in Bangalore.
The 30-year-old also became the first civilian woman to co-pilot the American-strike fighter F-16IN of Lockheed Martin two days before the biennial event took off at the Indian Air Force (IAF) base at Yelahanka, about 20 km from here.
The moment for proud for all of us as being Women when you read such achievements by members of your folk only, who passed out all hurdles in life and stepped into the men’s bastion which was a challenge in itself. They can go to such heights then why not we dare to dream to see our self at some position in our future.

A day of love, a day for romance, a day to admire your Valentine, that’s the Valentine day!
Every year this day comes with lots of celebration around. Young couples can be spotted with roses and chocolates to gift each other. Media hype and smart marketing have branded this day to some extent. Its a day to express your love to your sweetheart, to surprise him with some special gift and spend some quality time with him. Some couples are not in favour of celebrating valentines day as they say that for them every day is a valentine day when they can express their love for each other. They may sound right, If you really love some person by heart then why to wait for some particular day to express your love. Sounds interesting!
Whatever the reason still valentine day has its importance. Just depends on you that how you want to celebrate. It’s easy to splurge money and gift your sweetheart a lavish dinner and costly gift. Why not take this day with some different approach to bring some spice to your love life.Try to be very creative with your gift. Take it as a challenge, both of you, to buy the gift in certain amount only which is minimal. Or waken the inner poet within you and express your love in words to your beloved. A very creative way of celebrating the day was seen in Singapore. One guy planned his dinner with his sweetheart at the beach. He set up a table very close to water waver, cooked the dinner himself and invited his girlfriend for this surprise dinner.Moreover, he carried his guitar with himself and sang beautiful songs for his sweetheart. That lovely candlelight dinner will be always a memorable one for his lover.
The point is to spend some quality time with each other. As a woman, we love receiving gifts, but Valentine’s day gives a chance to gift your valentine to reflect your love for your sweetheart. It will not be effective at its cost but definitely how thoughtful were you with your idea.

Dalai Lama has always been a symbol of peace to me. His constant efforts for Tibet cause in its unique way has attracted worldwide attention. He is also known for his guidance and teachings worldwide and his books are very popular throughout the world.
Whenever I crossed Dalai Lama’s book section in Library I just felt that his books will talk about peace, love, integrity and maybe something about how to meditate, yoga etc. This was until I read one of his books-How to Expand Love.
Well, I will certainly not say that book is a best seller, or very superbly written. But the impression which It created in my mind that being a human being some thoughts which have to be present in every individual then why is it so those are prominent in few persons around the world like his holiness. In this book, he has described seven step self-help program to help us open our heart and mind. Some of the snippets are-
It is important to aspire to bring about the well being of others and to develop that aspiration so that it becomes stronger and stronger.
When you generate a reasoned desire for the happiness of others your humanness increases.
May the suffering which I am undergoing now function as the ripening, manifestation, and conclusion of many bad karmas that I have accumulated.
He says that think about the happiness of others. This will give you amazing happiness. Just imagine the person fulfilling all his dreams and you will be full of love and happiness for him.
Though I must say that all his teachings are tough to follow. You really have to be a saint to follow his preachings. When you lead a normal life going through all your roles, dealing with the worldly duties, experiencing all types of emotions throughout the day then it is really challenging to keep your inner voice audible. It needs lots of meditation and practice. Though not impossible still a challenge in itself.
In today’s scenario its necessary to go across such thoughts as it takes you to a different spiritual world from this materialistic world and you are introduced to real yourself!

Positive Energy is the most required energy in the world today and women can take a lead in spreading it. Quite surprising but as the negative things are happening around, still positivity can play important role in balancing the situation.
New ways of spreading that positive energy are being searched out. Recently in Singapore MP Seng Han Thong set an example for spreading positive energy around. Mr. Seng was suffered major burn while somebody threw inflammable liquid on him. Despite this, he was ready to send new year wishes to his near and dear ones by his own hand. In the hospital, he was determined to send those wishes himself. Another idea which he suggested was the opening of an Internet site where any individual or company can share their stories that how they are dealing with the recession scenario and can share those unique stories where they have come across such incidence of determination. What a positive idea!
Things are really going bad. The recession is there, people are losing their jobs, pays are getting reduced. It’s like a shock to most of the people. In today’s time’s people lead a materialistic life, often running after something or the other. When one target is achieved then they start thinking about the other target. Recession and job cuts have created a vacuum in such groups. People are getting frustrated, depressed, and hopeless. Many cases of suicides, whole family being killed out of frustration, or murdering the person responsible for the job cuts in the particular company are being reported.
There is really urgent need of spreading a wave of positive energy around. This is the time only when we can help each other and prove that humanity is still alive. Share the stories of success with each other, groups can be formed that can organize motivating events at weekends. Sending motivating SMSs is one of the ways to motivate each other. Emails are the other most common form of communication. Newspapers can start particular columns for motivation only. Electronic media can also form a major platform to show programs reflecting the lighter side of life.
Why we make life so complicated? It’s about loving each other, working towards the internal growth and making each day memorable. Instead of cribbing about our losses we should try to work towards some different goal. Why waste precious time of life in depressing thoughts, frustrating ourselves or cursing others. We can see the situation another way that maybe God has given us a chance to pursue some other work which we can deliver better. Sad days will definitely pass away as it is said time doesn’t remain the same always.So womenfolk, start spreading positive energy around for your own betterment only!
