Womenlines takes pleasure to welcome Eitu Vij Chopra, founder of Karmic Therapy by Eitu, Co-founder & Chief Curator at Rex Ideas for action/life as an Influencer for Alternative therapies. Eitu provides holistic professional and personalized healing and psychic counselling for every facet of human life be it professional, financial or personal, helping people achieve their goals. This month Eitu has shared about how to use thoughts to change your personality and your reality-
Human Brain and the human body are the greatest healers. The change, the shift and the metamorphosis happen in the body in the mind to heal and shift.
Research shows that we become slaves to our thoughts and that is why 90% of our thoughts remain the same through the days, through the weeks, months and years.
Thoughts create our destiny and thoughts to create our future!
Same thoughts lead to the same choices and the same choices lead to the same behaviour and that lead to the same results. And further on the same experiences that lead to the same emotions which tend to influence the way we think.
Our hormones, our biology, our body chemistry and our neuron circuitry as well as gene expression equals to and depends on how we think and how we act and how we feel.
And to sum that up; how we THINK and how we ACT is called our personality and our Personality also creates our Personal Reality. If you wish to change your PERSONALITY make it more vibrant you will need to change your PERSONAL REALITY.
How to do that:
- Be mindful, conscious and aware of your thoughts and emotions.
- Trail your thoughts and look at how you think.
- Read your emotions each day, seek how you live with emotions through your days.
- Do your emotions belong to your future or are coming from past experiences of fear/guilt and judgment or abandonment.
And once you begin to notice the points enumerated above you also begin to CHANGE and shift so that you create a new you and create a new life. Your Neurons fire with your wiring and thoughts can shift the wiring and firing of the SAMENESS when we just act upon our thoughts. Once the thoughts shift the action shifts, the behaviour shifts and so does the experiences. But this is not easy and your body, your mind and your thoughts shall resist this unfamiliar change as its used to, accustomed to same habit and the unconscious behaviour which turn into emotional reactions and ultimately hard-wired beliefs, perceptions. It’s like a computer or a robot that has been programmed to function a certain way with the commands it’s been fed and to give the precise known result. So if you wish to change POSITIVE THINKING won’t help as your body and mind are conditioned into a program a from the past. “The thought that I wish to change” never reaches the body. Think of it as an unfamiliar, uncertain and uncomfortable as well as unpredictable feeling and shift that you have to embark on. The familiar feeling of comfort will come back very easy and the body too shall move into the womb of its previous comfort. To move from one state to the next, to move from one static mind into another you will need to cross the river that will seem dreary, deep and dangerous. But beyond it lies the Change in your Personal Reality as you have guided it to this change and shift.

Enlightening content from ‘Cancer Awakens’ is going to empower people with the right mindset and knowledge to prevent cancer and to thrive with it if one is diagnosed with it. This month share is about how you can uncover the emotional stressors in your life-
Emotional stressors arise when negative emotions like anger, guilt, sorrow and hurt occur frequently or intensely. Typically, these toxic emotional reactions are a result of your unresolved needs. They can compromise your immunity and affect your health. If you can discover your emotional stressors and what triggers them, you can take specific and targeted actions to recover from them.
Identify the source of negative emotions
Can you identify one of your top negative emotions? When was the first time you actually felt it? How old were you then?

In all likelihood that you were not more than seven or eight years old, or at best, a teenager. In either situation, it would have been when your mind wasn’t fully developed and you were not strong enough to handle a painful or difficult situation. This emotion would have been simply your fight or flight response to cope with that particular situation the best you could.
Negative emotions are actually the visible expressions of some underlying feelings which we have not been able to resolve. The feeling is itself born out of a perceived unmet need which on closer examination we find, is part of the coping mechanisms we learnt as a child.
One person, many selves
Are there times when you are mature and balanced, and other times when you act out, almost childishly? Most of us can recognise and empathise with living this contradiction on a regular basis. Eric Berne, the founder of Transactional Analysis (TA), identifies three different selves that make up our ego or personality: An inner Parent (who behaves exactly like our parents did), an inner Adult (our most objective self who can see the world from a mature perspective), and an inner Child (that part of us which still remains at the psychological age of under seven years).
To be a well-rounded and a functioning person, we need a good balance of all three selves operating within us. The Parent in us keeps us morally and ethically under control, the Child in us keeps us creative, curious and with a capacity for joy, and the Adult in us knows how to operate in the world with awareness and particularly, knows when to call upon the Parent nature or the Child nature, as appropriate.
The wounded “inner child”

In an ideal world, all three selves will be developed equally and in a balanced way. But the reality is different. Our inner child is often wounded in the early years and develops some coping mechanisms (tantrums, withdrawal, self-aggrandisement, etc.) to deal with the situation, to feel safe and to get love, acceptance and security.
Life carries on and we develop into our adult selves. But left un-healed, our inner Child remains wounded and this wound surfaces inevitably when we are caught in a similar situation (of being under threat) and it triggers a memory of the coping response we used then to defend ourselves.
While coping with emotions such as anger or self-pity or pride may have served us well to deal with a difficult situation in childhood, they are not healthy in the long term. As adults, we need to uncover our wounds, heal and replace them with more effective and healthy response mechanisms. It would be a huge relief to ourselves and also to our loved ones and colleagues, who otherwise bear the brunt of our inappropriate behaviour patterns.
Reflection
Here are some questions to help you discover the emotional patterns that are creating stress in your life.
- What are some of your recurring emotional patterns? When did you first learn them?
- What purpose did they serve then? How are they serving you now?
- Can you identify the ‘feeling’ under the emotion and the unmet ‘need’ under the ‘feeling’?
- What might be a legitimate way to meet that need, as against your typical emotional response?

In this hustling world we are so engrossed with the fast pace that we are missing out on many of the important things in life, be it be relations, love, friendships and the most important person is forgotten completely that is “our own self”. Connecting with self is the only way to all success and dreams turn into reality. For a fulfilled life we have to make conscious efforts towards it. The below simple steps are just a simple reminder:
- Stop Thinking and Start Believing -Remind yourself, that you can rise up from anything. You can completely recreate yourself. You are not stuck. You have choices. You can think of new thoughts. You can learn something new. You can create new habits. Start loving yourself and accepting yourself.
- Immerse completely into what you do– To make our dreams reality we have to give our 100 % to what we do. We should ensure to leave no stone unturned and make all efforts
- Shed your insecurities and become fearless -On the way, you will come across many challenges, you have to just focus on one thing that is your goal. The eye on the target helps you keep our view clear on the way. Keep the pace moving onwards by taking one step at a time to reach your short term or long-term goal
- Connect with your goal -Feel the sense of achievement inside you much before you start your journey towards it. This helps you on the way and helps you keep your motives clear and achievable
- Impossible seems “I M Possible“- Remember your dreams always. Never lose the sight of your dreams, as dreams add fuel to the climb and make the journey easier and climb possible. Keep pushing yourself to find the hidden treasure inside you.
- Disconnect to connect with inner you– Occasionally go in for emotional detox, digital detox, relationship detox. This helps us expel all the negative emotions and we feel happy and energized.

Womenlines takes pleasure to welcome Melissa Milford, who is having over 20 years experience in the health & fitness industry, educator and trainer in fitness as a guest contributor at Womenlines. Readout her incredible sharing which will motivate you to take action regarding your fitness regime-
I had a life-changing experience some years back that still affects and influences me every day.
It was mid-morning and I was working out at the gym, among the other gym-goers. What I heard overheard through literally stopped me in my tracks.
A man was being congratulated on his birthday for the following Tuesday. A happy 90th birthday! I started paying more attention to what this guy was doing. He was still doing 10kg dumbbell bench presses, getting around well and obviously had some strength about him as he went from exercise to exercise.
I stopped and thought to myself this is exactly why I’m here doing this now. Why I priorities my training the way I do, why I make it a big part of my week. Why I back it up with eating right, living clean, promoting good gut health and having a positive healthy focused mindset. Because fast forward to when I am ninety, I still want to be active, strong and able to get around and living a fabulous life.
Not hunched over, using a walker, finding it hard to get around, feeling weak and simply finding everyday life a struggle. I still want to be living life to the absolute fullest and I know that platform is being built right now. In what I do today, tomorrow and all the days thereafter. My strength, endurance, mobility and posture when I’m 90 is being shaped and created right now.
I think about this day often, because if not now, then when. When do you start to build your future? Truth is you are right now. Like it or not, consciously or unconsciously you are creating your future 90-year-old self NOW.
So where do you start? Here are a few key areas of your fitness you should be building a strong foundation in now that really impact the quality of life in later years.
- Posture; a key area people take for granted and wonder why 50 years from now they are hunched over and not moving around well. Regular assessments are important to identify any shifts otherwise they only compound over time. That way they can be corrected through your movement training.
- Mobility; if you can’t do these simple day to day activities now, how about when your 90? Getting up and down off the ground, stepping up and over things, reaching, twisting, bending over, getting into a full squat position and crouching down? Make sure mobility exercises for particularly your hip and shoulder joints are part of your training.
- Strength; Will you be still doing the 10kg dumbbell bench press like the 90-year-old guy as I saw? There will definitely be a better end result the earlier you build and really work on your strength. Make sure that you are addressing foundational strength around the primary movement patterns as part of your training. This really plays a huge factor in the quality of lifestyle and degree of independence later on in life.
So let me ask you this.
Are you going to like what you see and feel about the way you are living your life at 90 based on your current fitness and lifestyle habits???
