Womenlines takes pleasure to report about a young, enthusiastic activist and winner of Karamveer Award- Silver (2019), Kanksshi Agarwal who is working passionately towards increasing women’s participation in the Indian political system. Kanksshi Agarwal is a founder at NETRI, an initiative to enhance women’s participation in decision-making, specifically politics. She is a policy consultant and political strategist by profession. She has worked with parliamentarians and politicians, awarded multiple fellowships including LAMP, Citizen for Public leadership and Shenomics-Lead like a Girl, and writes for several leading digital news sites. A gender activist, co-founder of AIESEC Bhopal Chapter, State-level Youth Advocate (M.P.) for UN Women’s HeforShe campaign, she has facilitated multiple NGOs including UNICEF’s programme. She is a qualified researcher and obtained her masters from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. Under NETRI Kanksshi IS providing training & knowledge-Circles for women to empower them with the right skills to participate in politics.

Last week, Netri- Women who lead foundation, organised a Women’s political training and capacity building workshop in Madhya Pradesh, India.
Keeping in mind the upcoming local body elections the attempt was to cover information related to – reservation for women, processes for the nomination, the impact of leadership on the lives of women, case studies depicting the success of women leaders, few rules and tricks of campaigning, and busted myths and addressed queries.
100 women attended the workshop and Netri team was happy to know decent no. of them were considering running for office.
