A Dedicated PT offering 7 years of acute-chronic care experience; a history of “exemplary” ratings on performance reviews; solid credentials that include, BLS/Dry needling/Manual Therapy certifications /certified FMT and a master’s degree in physical therapy in Neurology. This month Shubhnagi is sharing a very informative article about what is the meaning of health and how to healthy –
Health is wealth. It’s a very famous quote and we all at one point in time think and decide that now is the time when I need to consider my health as a priority. Health is a real gem of life and everyone needs to understand it as soon as possible. Before keeping Health as a goal, we need to understand it correctly. The most basic reason why most of the people failing in achieving a healthy lifestyle is a misconception about Health. When we say or hear term health, we just imagine one thing and that is a Gorgeous Body. Yes… that’s all most of the people can think about being healthy. Just having a fit body does not make us healthy. health has multiple facets. And each facet should be tune with each other to make a person Healthy. Or many people answer I am very healthy as I don’t have any disease. As per the WHO health is defining as – ‘Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.’ It is very clear from the definition that health is not just about free of diseases process. The three-basic component of Health is 1.Physical fitness 2. Mental wellbeing 3.Social well being.
Hence if you target a healthier version of yourself, then target wellness at three different levels. This will keep the balance between body and mind. If you keep trying to have a fitter body, and your mind is constantly occupied with various kind of stress then it is very difficult for your body and mind to work in harmony to bring out the best result for you in terms of physical fitness and you are not achieving a healthy lifestyle. Social wellness is a sense of belonging and social inclusion. Being associated with family and friends keeps you motivated. Many cases have been found where a person is physically fit and balanced in mindfulness, but they lack a social support system. Eventually, they feel alone, go into silent depression and anxiety. And lack majorly in term of being Healthy. Hence when we try to keep ourselves balance in these three-level ie., physically fit, mentally well trained to cope up and socially well connected, our body will automatically tune itself to follow a disciplined lifestyle to keep physical fitness at optimal level, keeping calmness in stressful situation and holding our self to the society as included member with sense of belonging. These steps will eventually lead to a healthy lifestyle. Give yourself time to adapt these factors in routine and you will find following a healthy lifestyle will not be a target anymore, it is the way of living!! Therefore, now when your goal is Healthy style just not start with going to the gym or joining any yoga class, add it up with meditation, brain exercises and spending time with family, friends and connecting yourself to the community. Next time when you decide or anyone around you commit to lead a healthier lifestyle please does make them aware of these three components of health. Target a healthy body and mind together

Womenlines takes pleasure to welcome Ravindirin Zearamane, a retired banker, who was Senior Business Analyst with a proven record of achievements in the multi-cultural environments of the global financial services industry, as a guest contributor at Womenlines panel. He is also a coach and mentor too.
Ravindirin has shared the story of a big company on the brink of bankruptcy. Please read and find out the interesting details on how this company is saved and by whom-
Today’s meeting:
The ‘ad hoc’ meeting room’s door closes after the CEO goes in with Nicole. Board members are all present. They appear to be worried…whether this newly appointed Growth and Innovation Officer will work out the right plan to put back the company on the right path. Boundless expectations in their minds. Darren is the only person in the board who knows Nicole personally. He was her college mate, then for a short period managed her as his deputy during his first career tenure in an Export Company. He is unable to acknowledge and accept her in this important role. He feels nervous and is apparently uneasy with the situation.
“This meeting is the starting point and will become a milestone in our company history. We are entering an era of growth and revenue, an era of healthy balance sheets. Nicole is here to help us steer the ship to its destination braving storms and bad weather. She has more than 15 years of experience and 5 of the top ranking 50 companies have reached their present status with her guidance and control”…a simple and short opening speech by the CEO.
“How could this person with an average academic score, nicknamed the ‘gang leader’ as she could never be found alone without her small group of chirpy college girls, be able to turn around this big company and make it profitable?” Darren wants to voice out but controls himself.
After a brief session of self-introductions, Gary, the Financial controller passes on 2 thick folders to Nicole…”These are our short and long term plans. You will also find our last 3 balance sheets, all in red. After reviewing, please feel free to ask for clarifications. I am at your full disposal.”
Heads across the table nod to signal they are ready to cooperate.
“Thank you, Gary. I will go through them. Darren, will you please arrange for a one hour ‘one to one’ meeting with each of the board members and then their direct reports?”
“No problem, Nicole. I will send you the invitations” is the response of Darren while “Why the hell you want to have individual meetings?” is what he wants to say. The Head of Human Resources finds it surprising that she doesn’t show any sign of knowing him. In a strange way, he feels her attitude comforting.
After 9 months, in a meeting:
Nicole: Thank you for believing in me and acting upon all my requests.
Gary: You are welcome, Nicole. Just one quick question. You have so far only incurred expenses. Hope you have some action plan like cost-cutting, merging sectors, redundancy.
Nicole: These expenses…consider them as investments. Give me 9 more months and you will start receiving their dividends. No redundancy but there could be some realignments.
Barbara, Marketing Manager: Nicole, as you suggested, we started working hand in hand with the Sales Team. Our new TV commercial has an emotional 1-minute story which speaks directly to the customer’s heart.
Diana, Head of Sales: you better have a look at its content before we pass it on to our production team.
Nicole: Will do, Diana. I am sure it will come out nicely.
Darren wonders how she will be able to show the results within such a short period, but admires her confidence.
After 9 more months, in a meeting:
Gary: Dear colleagues, I have good news. Our company moves back to profitability. We can even pay dividends to our stockholders.
Nicole: Don’t forget to pay profit-bonus to our staff who made this revenue growth possible by their hard and dedicated work.
Darren: The health care centre, the ‘man of the month’ selection and celebration in each department, the twice a year ‘family time’ excursions, the ‘work at home’ option and above all, the ‘‘select your own office hours’ scheme are some of your recommendations. Needless to say they brought back the lively atmosphere into the office. We all are now smiling and that collective smile gets reflected in our services to our customers. Nicole, you have done a good job. Six more months and you will be off. Why can’t you stay with us for some more time?
Nicole: My priority was to know our workforce, their needs, their ambitions, their happiness. My individual meetings made me realise how much they loved their job. You all were prepared to do anything to protect this company from failing. The only missing piece was ‘communication’. You all were keeping your heads down focusing on only what you did. No one was clear of the company goal and its plan to achieve it. I have therefore deleted the layout option from my action plan.
If the company looks after the staff, they will look after the company….so simple but often forgotten.
I came here on a 2-year contract. I have done what you paid me for. I have to leave now as agreed. Other Corporates in similar situations need me.
On Nicole’s send-off day:
After a short speech, Nicole asks Darren to come forward and stand next to her. Then says
“I knew Darren right from my college days. In fact, I worked for him in my first job. It was he who taught me the first lessons of HR…human relationships. He is a good man. I kept it as a secret until today because otherwise, it would have been difficult for all of us to perform our duties objectively with no place for favours. Consensus and collective work create a win-win situation. Isn’t it?”
Someone raises his right hand and making V sign, shouts Niiicccole…Niiicccole….Niiicccole and the entire crowd joins in, taking pride in repeating the name with roaring applause.
Darren feels as if he is reborn. He will never ever assume anything based on past experiences. Time changes everyone and people grow wiser day by day because of their life lessons.

Ravindirin Zearamane is a retired Bank executive who writes regularly on LinkedIn. He is also a coach and mentor who believes in a bright future where technology frees man from manual jobs and helps him in his creative talent to make the world the best place to live in.
We are powerful, we are resilient, we have everything to fulfil our dreams!
Every morning many people across the globe are affirming the positive attributes they are having and promising themselves to carry a positive mindset throughout the day.
It is true friends that every individual is blessed with amazing powers but she can use it only if she is having the right knowledge and right mindset. Otherwise preconditioning did by the society will never let him achieve his or her dreams.
You start your day; you look around the media, majority-reporting negativity, sometimes you have to think twice if you are reading true news or a fake one.
You watch a news channel, full of discussions who is supposed to speak why, why the particular politician behaved that way, which country is slowing down, and above all-natural disasters are creating panic across the whole world.
Half of our positivity vanishes in some minutes!
You reach the workplace, senior management talking about the bad performance in the last quarter, cost-cutting will be the main agenda, you are in terror for the security of your job (or your spouse’s job if you are not in the job), no chance of positivity.
You check around your home, you see what you are supposed to buy, which dress or gadget you should be targeting or you are after your kids to run in the mad rat race.
You are completely lost!
You completely forget that you are born with all skills, good health and uniqueness within you to excel in life!
What to do now!!
The only solution is to have faith in yourself, like how beautifully the author of the best-selling book ‘Alchemist’ Paul Coelho explains that everything is within you. You have to awaken the authentic you who is living every moment with mindfulness about positivity, thinking about solutions to every challenge and above all taking action instead of wasting energy in highlighting what is missing and giving opinion what should be done. It is abundance around us. We have better opportunities. Technology-wise we are much advanced than the previous era. Instead of spending time reading the negative news, use that time to become fit and healthy. Your family will be grateful to you especially when you become old!
Life is beautiful I strongly believe and it should be used to build up a lovely story where you are the main character who believed in oneself and lived every moment in present creating precious memories connecting with his tribe with love and compassion.

Womenlines takes pleasure to welcome Vani Shukla as an Influencer for Yoga at Womenlines. Vani has been into Yoga and Fitness for more than 18years. She is a post-graduate in Yoga therapy from India. She was among the first few female fitness experts in Delhi to qualify American Council on Exercise exam in 2011.
Presently she lives in Adelaide Australia for the past five years and runs International Yoga Retreats and workshops. She has been interviewed by many local Australian radio stations including Channel 9 News. Read and listen to Vani’s interview above about her interesting journey in the field of Yoga in her own words-
I am Vani Shukla, born and raised in the heritage Indian city – Lucknow. My introduction to the Vedic mythology, traditions and its philosophy started at a very early age being part of an esteemed Brahmin family. Brahmin is a caste in Hinduism specializing as teachers (acharya) and protectors of sacred learning across generations, and therefore throughout my childhood, my family and teachers kept enriching me with the knowledge of primaeval epics, Ayurveda (ancient Indian medical science), Kathak (classical dance form), liberating mantras, philosophy of yoga, and spiritual sacraments of the Hindu culture that strengthened my belief and passion for the power of using scientific and cultural knowledge for the benefit of the society. This led me to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in the science of Nutrition and Dietetics.
In 2003, when I was 18 and just started my Bachelor’s degree, sadly I lost both my parents a few months apart. The pain of loss coupled with the agonizing mental battle and bewilderment. From an energetic happy teenager, suddenly I isolated myself from society. Seeing my situation my friend introduced me to her Yoga teacher and here my foray into the world of Yoga came. Having a strong belief in ancient sciences and consistent practice of Yoga renewed my strength to face my new life and deal with the vacuum of losing both my parents. This experience changed me as a person and I was enthralled by the power of Yoga. I decided to inspire the people to lead a happy and healthy life by sharing this incredible knowledge of mind, body and soul.
With this burning desire to be able to change the lives of people towards positive living, I enrolled into Master’s of Science in Yoga Therapy at Kasturba Medical College, a renowned medical college in south India. During this course, I was lucky to learn more about Yoga and its philosophy, from a few of the most experienced teachers from the Southern part of India.
Even while pursuing my Master’s degree, I felt a deep urgency to find a Guru, who would guide me to enlighten my Yogic path. In this exploration of the spiritual master, I travelled across the length and breadth of India and visited many ashrams. My search ended in Rishikesh when I finally met Swami Veda Bharti in December 2006. Swami Veda was the disciple of Swami Rama of the Himalayas (founder of Himalayan Yoga Tradition). He has guided many scholars in their numerous fields and I was privileged enough to be accepted as his student. The journey since then has been one of continuous spiritual growth and abundant blessing.
When your dreams don’t let you sleep, you simply wake up and work hard! After completing my education in 2007, I started sharing Yoga in its deepest form in order to enable people to make long-lasting modifications in their habits and lifestyle to achieve good health and complete well-being. During the next eight years, I was able to touch many lives by cultivating Yoga teachings in different multinational corporations; health clubs, residential societies, old age care centres, orphanages and hospitals.
I was delighted to know that I have been able to change lives, from curing simple health ailments like migraine, insomnia, headaches, obesity, stress to even helping some people quit smoking and give up alcohol. I also got the privilege to inculcate Yoga practice and re-emphasize the importance of flexibility and mindfulness in a Sports Center run by Indian Cricketer M.S Dhoni in New Delhi.
Whilst I was busy in accomplishing my passion of teaching Yoga, In 2015 I got an opportunity to live in Australia, as a Yogi trait I love travelling and exploring a new world, I decided to move to Australia.
Currently, I am living in Adelaide with my husband and continuing my Yoga journey with beautiful people in this city. I conduct classes at various renounced Yoga centres, besides organizing successful workshops and retreats (local & international) and guiding students in safe traditional Yoga through a variety of postures (asanas), breathing exercises (pranayama) and meditation. I personally love teaching Meditation and Yoga philosophy and make sure that it has been incorporated into my teaching.
For the past couple of years, I have been doing volunteering at multiple organizations to teach Yoga and increase awareness of Indian/Yoga philosophy, including the University of South Australia, Hindu Council of Australia-SA chapter and United Indians of South Australia
I am a Karma Yogi and intensely believe in the philosophy of Karmas- What goes around, comes around! Continuing my beliefs and passion, I hope I will keep serving people throughout my life.
Sarve Bhavantu Sukinaha,Sarve Santu Niramayah !
(May all be happy, may all be disease less.)
Namaste!
